Rosin For My Spirituality

Mustard Seed - July/August 2003

I would like to parallel rosin on a violin bow to the baptism of the Holy Spirit in our Christian walk. In that rosin on a violin bow, makes the bow not side on the strings, thus making melodious tones. Realizing that without rosin on a violin bow, you won't get melodious tones because the bow hairs will slide on the strings. Rosin gives the bow's hair the ability to rub over the strings, vibrating the strings to enhance nice sounds between the strings and the violin itself. So it is with the baptism of the Holy Spirit in our spiritual lives. We learn and even have more faith because once we are baptized in God's Holy Spirit, we now have the power that is needed to help our spiritual lives grow. In Acts 2:38-39, " Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins." For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." Just as rosin enhances the tones from a violin, God's spirit is the essential spirit essence to enhance our daily walk with God, through the baptism of the Holy Spirit

In the book of Ephesians, chapter 5, verses 18-20 " and be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the spirit, speaking to yourselves in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making Melody in your heart to the Lord.
