Mustard Seed -  July/August 2004

Dear Brethren,

The interim is the time to prepare. We see this occur in business or in the sports field, something or someone (coaches, mangers) is set in place until the permanent is established. We are in the interim; the months of July and August is the time to prepare for the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, the Feast of Tabernacles and the 8th Day. Our preparation in the interim months of the Pentecost season and the Feast of Tabernacles season, if used wisely, will build up anticipation and help insure an organized Feast of Tabernacles season.

In Proverbs 24:27 "prepare (set-up, confirm) your work without (abroad, outside) make it fit for yourself in the field and afterward build thine house." This is mainly talking about marriage preparation, but we can apply it to the interim months to prepare for the Feast of Tabernacles season.

We can prepare by planning on where we will assemble, with whom. and checking our finances that we have been setting aside for this Holy day season. Everyone must remember that every Feast of God has it's own unique characteristic.

I want to emphasize the Feast of Tabernacles, the Traveling and staying Feast.  Historically, people went up (traveled) to Jerusalem, and sat under booths (Tabernacles) the 7 days, (staying)—and while there, learned the fear of the Lord. rejoiced with others that they met, and gave to others. (Neh. 8:10-12)  If there are people attending their first or second Feast of Tabernacles, we should show and practice this. Some have, and are making the Feast of Tabernacles a "little private." meeting of only those that they see weekly in their local area.

When reading Deut. 14:22-29, you can see that your family. the Levite. the Strangers, the Widow, and the Fatherless, are to be included. In the interim months, let's prepare for the main and permanent Feasts of the Lord.
