Born Again! What Does It Really Mean?
Dynamic Contentment!
Mustard Seed - July/August 2003
How many people have you met and could sense that they knew what they wanted and knew how to attain that goal?
Most of the people that I've met that had that air about them were hard to get along with. Some were willing to do almost anything to anybody to reach that goal. some of these people reflected their drive by their facial expressions, usually their patience with others was very short, there seemed to be a problem with them looking down on others.
I know of some people that know what they want, and how they are going to reach that goal. Yet these people are not hard to get along with, they are honest and caring for others. These people have "Dynamic Contentment." I believe that every true believer and disciple of Christ must have this.
The Apostle Paul stated that he" labored more abundantly than they (other apostles) all, yet not I but the grace of God which was with me" (I Cor.15:16).
The Apostle Paul was a "Dynamic" apostle. When reading his epistles, we can see him caring for the Saints. Look at 1Thes. 2:1-8, words such as "nurse" and "dear" from this dynamic Apostle. I am using the term "Dynamic Contentment." The word dynamic has the meaning of "energy or physical force in motion." This is a powerful and energetic contentment.
The sin of coveting, stealing, and lying are seen by the person and are confessed before God, as 1 John 1:9 states, "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Knowing this will help us to be contented with what God has given us, then there is the way we are to look at ourselves, "not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith." (Rom.12:3). Thinking more highly of one self will cause discontentment with God and with man. You can turn to Phil. 2:13 and see why "Dynamic Contentment" should be a part of our daily life. Verse 13 reads: " For it is God which works in you, both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
