Take Heed That You Be Not Deceived
Make Time
Mustard Seed - November/December 2003
Why are we always in a hurry to do things? Why are we wishing for time to speed up? Perhaps the answer to the first question is, maybe we are not planning, or have a schedule to do things in a timely manner. The answer to the second question could be that the present time is not suitable, or a situation in not a favorable one.
When one is young, we can hardly wait to be old enough to get a driver's license, to finish school so you can be on your own, not realizing that when one is under his or her parents roof, is when you are the safest and almost without any worry. Why are we always wishing it was Friday? Maybe because it is the end of a work week, or a school week. I am guilty of the things said before. In Ecclesiastes, there is a verse that mentions--"for every time there is a season." Don't we know or realize, that by wishing for time to speed up, we are wishing our life away?
We need to make time and enjoy every day that God has given to us, and also thank our GREAT CREATOR GOD for everything that we have. Tomorrow you may not have what you have today, such as: your health, a spouse, close friends, parents, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, grand-kids, son-in-laws, daughter-in-laws or our Church brethren. The bible tells us that our life is like a vapor, so we need to learn to enjoy and savor every day as it comes, and by all means include JESUS CHRIST in your plans and life, and everything that we do will become easier and more enjoyable.
I think that God appreciates and is more receptive, if we ask him to be with us before we start a task, rather than start asking for help when we run into trouble, when the car is broken down on the side of the road. God will always listen to our prayers, but it is better to ask God to go with us, from the very beginning.
