Mustard Seed - November/December 2003

The following is an email received from a member of

the Church of God in Canada, on September 18, 2003.

Events  are shaping up that bring us closer to the end-time.  Canada has passed through congress, Bill C250. This bill will make it a criminal offence, to speak out against gay and lesbian lifestyle. If found guilty, a person can receive up to 5 years in jail. The bill further adds, anything that can be construed as hate literature, or that promotes Genocide  of this class or minority, to be classed as a hate crime. Again punishable by up to five years in jail.

What does all of this mean to us, as God's people?  The Bible could be banned as hate literature, and possibly censored.  Refer to Lev.20:13--"if a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination, they shall surely be put to death, their blood shall be upon them."  This is only one of several verses that will be considered as hate literature.

The bill does not make speaking against gay and lesbian lifestyle the hate crime, but cites sexual orientation lewdness.  Sex between men and boys is promoted openly by advocates of the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA).  Their argument being, what is the problem, if they are both in agreement?  If, they do not know, I guess we cannot explain it.

We already have laws that protect the public, against assault, murder, the utterance of death threats, as well as gay bashing.  These are all illegal. So why does the homo-sexual need Bill C250?  It is to silence all opposition and speaking against that life-style.  Hate is the pretense under which the bill is being promoted, but the real reason is to silence us.  Once it becomes law, it will not matter whether you are guilty of a crime or not, you will be intimidated with being charged.  The real threat will be the ensuing court and mounting legal costs for your defense.  The gay community will not be concerned with the impending cost, because their cost will be paid by the federally-funded Courts Challenge Program.  It will cost them absolutely nothing.

This bill is not law yet and already the bible has come to be viewed as "hate" by the Saskatchewan human rights tribunal in the Hugh Owens case.  Owens was fined $5,000 for a supposed offense.  He ran an ad in the newspaper quoting scriptural verses denouncing the gay lifestyle and the gays took offense and took him to court.

Mr. Owens has been subjected to prosecution and numerous legal costs, For Quoting The Bible.  Beside the fine, he had to apologize and promise not to do it again.  The newspaper was fined, and had to promise not to print it again.  So we shot down freedom of speech, freedom of the press, not to mention our freedom of religion.  If this bill had been in effect at the time, Owens could have received a five year jail term.  The implications of this bill could be far reaching. The Bible could be banned from distribution .  The Gideon's could be charged with distributing hate literature and promoting genocide.  If we receive sermons through the mail denouncing homosexuality, we could be charged for bringing in hate literature through the mail. This is a Federal offense.  Who knows, we may even see Bibles burned, people arrested for reading and owning a Bible, a return to the dark ages; the worst act against God's people, since Rome dominated the religious arena.
