  God Does Care

Mustard Seed - November/December 2004

Have you ever been inspired to do or to say something and didn't?  We have heard of the inspiration of scriptures, meaning "God Breathed" these words into the minds of men and they  spoke and wrote them. These words are the elements that make up life's directions and purpose for every person that will accept them.  Let's go back to the original question, "have you ever been inspired to do or say something and didn't?"  I don't mean were you inspired to write scriptures for the bible, God has already given us a complete bible.

I was speaking to a friend once about how I got employed at a certain company.  I was taking some classes at a small college, and while I was sitting in the classroom listening to the instructor talking about his previous employment with various companies, when he had finished, I said:  " I'm going to apply at a certain company."  Let's remember that I had never applied there before, I didn't know anything about the company, except that it was associated with electronic equipment. I talked to a friend that worked for that company, and asked if he would see if there were any openings (I should have checked for myself.) He said he would, and later told me that there were no openings, but to go by anyway and fill out an application, and so I did. (Our instructor had told us to get as much interview experience as possible.)  I went by on a Wednesday, I was told by the office manager, that the regional manager had just left the day before, but had authorized him to hire two people, one slot was to be filled by a transfer in from another office, that left one slot for a new hire, and the opening must run for a week in the newspaper. Applications and interviews  were many, I didn't really care, " I'm just getting interview experience,"  were my thoughts.

Two weeks later after this interview, the company hired me. There were other indications that this job was God given and blessed of Him. Such as, before the ink was dry on the papers that I had to fill out, I went in and told my manager that I needed to take off for the

Feast of Trumpets, Atonement and two weeks for the Feast of Tabernacles. ( This all happened about two weeks before the fall holydays began.)  He told me "sure, no problem," I could have the time off, I just wouldn't get paid for the days that I was absent, but the job would be waiting for me when I returned, and it was. I worked for that company for eighteen years, and it has been very rewarding.

Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ gives us the things we need, and oftentimes when we least expect them.  I believe that we do have the inspiration of God, prompting us and suggesting to us on a daily basis, our Father just waiting to show himself, strong and mighty.  Listen carefully to your thoughts and ideas.

"Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made know unto God."--Phil 4:6
