These are the Feast of the Lord, even Holy convocations, which you shall proclaim in their season. Lev. 23:4
Feast of Trumpets
Trumpets (or Rosh Ha-sha-nah,) a day of rejoicing marked by the blowing of trumpets. These trumpets were in the Old Testament and known as the rams horn, shofar, and the silver trumpets. (Lev. 23:23-25)
The Feast of Trumpets pictures wars, plagues, and the return of Christ. See the significance of Trumpets in: I Thes. 4:13-18, I Cor. 15:50-52, Mt. 24:29-31 ; Rev. 11:15 and Num. 10:1-10.
Day of Atonement
At-one-ment--(also known as Yom Kippur) the time will come when mankind will at last be "at-one" with his creator. This is a solemn assembly. "Anah" to afflict one's soul, no work is to be done. The High Priest's role as mediator between God and man, is emphasized.
Feast O Tabernacles
"Sukkot" or the "Feast of Booths" a temporary dwelling, as we are in our bodies, which is a temporary dwelling. This is a seven-day Feast, the great fall harvest observed by living in a temporary shelter for the duration of the Feast (Lev 23:33-43 It also pictures the Millennial rule of Jesus Christ and His Saints on this earth. Rev. 20:4-5; The time of the great harvest of mankind. There will be a great spiritual harvest at that time because Satan will be bound and unable to deceive and cause rebellion until the very end.
The Eight Day
This is a separate day from the Feast of Tabernacles. This day is also known as the "Last Great Day" in John 7:37 Christ expounded on this particular day. The time of another resurrection and judging, then the books will be opened and blindness removed, the devil's final judgment will be executed also.
This is a Brief Glimpse at the Feasts that are going to be observed this fall.
