"Headaches To Heartaches"

This was a phrase I heard at the time when our first daughter was a little newborn baby. Probably all of us have experienced some form of "Headaches and Heartaches." As a parent how many years of each will we have?
I was told that the headaches are the late night and early morning feedings, and changing of diapers, in other words, the inconveniences that a little baby or toddler can cause.
The heartaches start when the pre-teen years arrive, the telephone rings, the doorbell rings and it's all for that pre-teen or teenager in your home. Then it worsen during the dating years. The headache to heartache years are unpreventable the degree of this malady can be governed by the temperament of the young person. Some can go through these years with a great deal of balance, others don't. Your little newborn causing your late night headaches is reacting to discomfort or something they don't have control over. That pre-teen or teenager, is also reacting to internal and external changes and at times they do things that are thoughtless and not until months, or perhaps years later do they see that they did not have concern for anyone else, only themselves. The realization of the heartache may not be understood until they are parents themselves. The problem can be such a headache or heartache that the parents, not thinking clearly, can go from emotional outburst to depression during these unpredictable years.
Being clear may mean that you may have to disapprove of what was done, but do not reject the individual. From infancy to adulthood, at different times, we've all had rough and difficult times. The individual should be told at the right time and place, that what they have done, or are doing does not meet your approval. However, as for them being an individual, you accept them and want to help them rectify their lives. When you as a parent know that you are right, don't compromise and follow the wrong, thinking that will pacify them, stand on the right and true principles. Your role model must be one of consistency, remember that you are always on stage before your children.
Whether your children are infants, pre-teen or teens, remember to ask God and Jesus Christ to work in their minds and lives to help them to see as they should. A good place to start would be to admit that at times, we do things that are displeasing to our heavenly Father, make sure to mention this to our Father and ask for insight into your life. Prayers are still being answered.
Headaches and heartaches will be controllable and answerable with God’s help. Whatever may arise, Never, Never Never, stop trying to help your Children.
