Ambassador

Mustard Seed -  August/September 2007

An official who represents their government in the capital of another country.

Ambassadors in their duties must represent their country or government, they must be tactful, know how to relate and handle the people they will be dealing with.

WE ARE AMBASSADORS! Yes, we know this because the apostle Paul was inspired to write it, “ now then we are ambassadors for Christ….” (II Cor. 5:20) .We are representatives of a coming world government which will rule over the entire earth. “But the saints of the Most High shall take the Kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever” (Dan.7:18).  We that are called now by God must represent this government by being an example to this world. Christ expects the following from us, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matt. 5:16).  As Ambassadors, we are also to do the following, that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights to the world.” (Phil. 2:15).

The job does not come easy for us, we are warned beforehand,  “marvel not if the world hate you” (I John 3:13).  But Christ  reassures us to heed His faith.  “In  the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).  The apostle Paul experienced persecution for preaching and living according to God’s way of life on this earth, of his experience he said, “For which I am an Ambassador in bonds” (Eph.6:20).  We also, by observing all of God’s laws,  including the Sabbath  and the Holydays, we are an example to this world.

As we are in this foreign “country” we are told to: “love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father in not in him”  ( I John 2:15).  “ If you were OF THE WORLD, the WORLD WOULD LOVE HIS OWN; but because you are NOT of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you” (John 15:19), that’s what Christ is telling us, so that we can have a better understanding of our responsibility.

Satan hates God’s way of life, we are in his “territory” (II Cor. 4:4), thus in the future, war will break out against us (Rev. 12:7-17). Satan knows that his days are numbered, and we will SOON reign with Christ  in the coming Kingdom (Rev.20:1-4).  Our God will finally restore to this “earth” that which was once upon it.  We as ambassadors must let people know this.  So let’s remember:  Let’s Shine Brightly Unto All The World To Be An Example Unto Them!”
