Mustard Seed - July/August 2007
Hello Everyone,
The Savior came from another world—Micah 5:2 “ whose going forth—from of old, from eternity. Jesus came to this earth as a representative of eternity in which he and the Father inhabited (Isaiah 57:15). The Savior Jesus Christ came to this earth and tabernacled with men, we can see that spoken of by John the apostle, in John 1:14.
This was a holy and divine mission. As Jesus tabernacled with his creation he represented his Father—Hebrews 1:3 “ the express image (character} of God. Jesus also represented the Kingdom of God as he told the Pharisees in Luke 17:21, “The Kingdom of God is among you. Jesus is the King of that Kingdom. These are just two of the responsibilities of Jesus Christ, we need to look at Jesus through the words written about him.
The apostle Paul said that we are to “walk you in him” (Colossians 2:6). Paul is telling us to “ trample the path” that Jesus trampled (or walked). As mentioned before, the two major responsibilities of Jesus were to : (1) represent the heavenly Father, and (2) to represent the Kingdom of God..
In some of our practices at times we become engrossed in ourselves, our likes and dislikes, or our feelings. When we read about Jesus Christ, look at what he faced, when he was purposefully insulted, talked about in a demeaning manner, he always kept in mind his “Father” and the “Kingdom” that he represented
(John 4:34).
Let’s keep this in mind as we prepare for our “daily walk,” representing the savior and putting in extra effort on the weekly Sabbath and the annual Sabbaths. “Then they that feared the Lord spoke often one to another and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of host, in that day when I make up my jewels……..” ( Malachi 3:16-17).
In Christ service,
