Q & A - Being Alone versus Being Lonely
Which Are You - Sheep or Goats?
Which Are You - Sheep or Goats?
Mustard Seed - November/December 2007
Is it possible to keep all the commandments of the Lord, His Sabbaths and His holy days, yet have the Lord say to you: “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels”? The answer is Yes - According to the word of God. Read the following passages to see for yourself.
Matthew 25:31-46 KJV When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth [his] sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed [thee]? or thirsty, and gave [thee] drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took [thee] in? or naked, and clothed [thee]? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: (43) I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] not to one of the least of these, ye did [it] not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Our Holy Father intends that those whom He has blessed with much to be ready with a willing mind to help those (our brethren) who have need. An example for us is found when Israel gathered manna in the wilderness for forty years: Exodus 16:17-18 “And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less. And when they did mete [it] with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.” This is confirmed in 2 Corinthians 8:15: “As it is written, He that [had gathered] much had nothing over; and he that [had gathered] little had no lack.”
Proverbs 19:17: He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
There is much written to us by our Lord about this important aspect of our lives and little space in this article to capture what is required of us. I would encourage you to study and meditate on the following scriptures: Mathew chapters 24; and 25, Luke 12; Acts 20:28-38; James 2; Acts 11: 29; Romans 15:26-31; 2 Corinthians chapters 8 and 9; Galatians 6; Galatians 5:13, 14.
