Mustard Seed July/August 2008 In the Sight of the Nations

In November 2008 will occur one of the most important Presidential Elections in our Nation’s history! You will note my title above about this commentary on this year's election; because as never before—all the nations of the World will be closely watching this election; because it will have one thing happening for the first time: The First prominent Black candidate: Barack O'Bama-Senator from Illinois.

The Church Of God-New Mexico does not endorse any candidate or participate in any political ideas or discussions. The Apostle James said we are to be pure and un-spotted from the World (James 1:27), and Jesus Christ plainly told the Roman Governor of Judea--Pontius Pilate-- that “My Kingdom is not of this World” (John 18:36) In Philippians 3:20 “ our conversation-- “Pol-it-yoo-mah (politics) is in heaven.

We are physical citizens of our Nation (Paul was a Roman Citizen) and we do have civic responsibilities. We do not sin by voting, but we must be aware of this point--Government(s) are fallible—they make mistakes; they do not always do things correctly (According to God's Laws & Commandments) for the good of ordinary citizens.

This coming election will put 'The Character' of the American People on-the-line! Foreign Nations will be closely watching to see how Americans choose their next President, will the Nation quietly without bias, choose the 'best' candidate? Or will there be mud-slinging—making a mockery out of this election and exposing our many character flaws for the rest of the World to see!

America no longer has great men like Abraham Lincoln whose humble beginnings and abiding faith in God enabled the nation to survive a deadly costly Civil War to preserve the Union and to free 'The Slaves in bondage’!

There is a prophecy in Jeremiah 4:30, at the end of verse 30 - it says that Israel's Lovers (modern day term: allies) will despise her (Israel) and will seek her life. Why? because of the hypocritical character of many of our people (Read Isa. 10:1-6). The 5th Chapter of Ezekiel gives a graphic description of how God is going to execute judgments in the midst of The Nations of Israel 'In The Sight of The Nations’ around the World!' Because of-Israel's rampant sins and lawlessness and depending on Foreign Allies (Lovers) and forsaking God—Israel has made God 'An Enemy' and is beginning to reap the curses prophesized in Deuteronomy 28; and that He (God) is against Israel!

In the end, it will be Almighty God who will decide who our next President will be---according to His Divine plan being worked out here below! Daniel 4:17.

The only hope for Israel is to be reconciled to God ---and that means National and Individual repentance.
